We've been doing some major rearranging of the tanks lately. Everybody's gone out of the 120 and the marine fish are moving in there. The fish I have left are being split among the remaining 55's, 75's, etc. Leaving one 75 empty for a friendly, easygoing, community South American tank. After doing some research the girls have decided they want to dedicate the tank to Discus, Angels, Rams, and other mild mannered SA's. I had Discus before and they did fine for me. But that was two houses and two different water systems ago. The public water we're on now has low levels of NitrAtes and low, like .5ppm levels of Phosphates. We'll keep up on the water changes to keep these levels from rising any higher than they already are. My concern is that even these low levels will do harm to the fragile fish my daughters have picked out for their new tank. Should we just give up on the Discus and Rams and go with something hardier or will they be okay in this lousy water?
