How to differentiate between a Kamfa and a ZZ.

Flower Lo-Han = Kamfa / Jin Hua
Pearl Lo-Han = ZZ

1 pic...The forehead.

2 pic...The black mark / dark flower

3 pic...The Lip

4 pic...The Eyes

5 pic...The Dorsal/Anal and Caudal Fin

Lastly,
6 pic...The Tail (Caudal Fin)

Those are some great pics with awesome reference material. I greatly appreciate your illustrations. They really came in handy here in the lab. Correct me if I'm wrong but Kamfa have more Midas in them hence the shorter snout and smaller lips while ZZ have have more Red Devil them reason for the longer snout, smaller head, thicker lips...right?

i think those discriptions where meant for the older breeds as famfas had just come out at the time. Now a days there are fish which are mixed with both to create new strians so you cant really go by the generic guidlines any more beacuse they share traits from one another, just use them to understand how these traits came about!

JH is preferred over ZZ cos ZZ when older, the ZZ finnages will 'collapse' but the JH will remain 'hard'. ZZ ages (looks older) faster. JH's face got not much wrinkles. ZZ's scales are very bright and shiny but JH's scales are like 'matted' colour. ZZ cannot grow very big. the JH strain can grow REALLY BIG!

malaysin boleh, how is the fh industry doing there now-a-days? Do you still keep any fh for yourself? and if so what strains and what farms/ creators are making the best fh these days?

nowadays , the strains are getting better and better. when the ##### first hit, only 1/20 or even 30 would only develop a kok. Nowadays the probability is much higher. Now, in many Malaysian LFS, there are so many small FHs with 'waterheads'

Bro, the recent technology is getting better an better... nowsaday there are many "King KamFa" found in the market whick process the uniqueness of Big Fish with Big fan tail and Super Metallic Pearly shine...
