I like the under the eye markings my self. Sort of reminds me of the life I lived in Southern Cal, Living LA VIDA LOCA. Something like a teardrop for the cholos! That's all in my opinion though. Everyone else has their opinions on them!

i would realy look for the under eye mark it made me feel that the fhs looks better and i thought it would mean higher quality. it looks better to me

some people feel the under the eye markings, represents the flowerhorn is "crying"

Yes, when I was in Asia, I was told this also! Some people feel that it is not good to have a FH with "teardrop markings" ...cause you know , it's a Feng Shui fish and is supposed to bring you happiness.

i just posted this since, theres been a boom of members posting there rainbow dragon, and looking at our stocks (fhi) and people who have posted, mine is the only rainbow i have seen without the eye marking

I prefer not to have the marking under the eye. The flowerhorns are suppose to represent POWER. I don't want it to look like a crybaby. ))))` I have 31 flowerhorns in my collection and 3 of them have the tear drop markings. "

I dont see the markings under the eyes as teardrops. Its like football players putting that marking underneath their eyes when playing. Or ancient warriors getting ready for battle...In my opinion the markings represent the warrior within the fish...not as teardrops....

Me too..i don't see them as tear drops. Jimmy, your markings were advertised as spitting cobra when oinky first was selling the fish. I actually do think it looks like a spitting cobra..pretty awesome!

I love the markings on yours! Reminds me of the big false eyelashes and eyeliner of the 1960's, beautiful.

i was told that they are called Dragon Tears, and that they where a desired look. I agreed.

One of my old flowerhorn had dragon tears.....he was one mean mofo!!!

Hi name was Mini Mo, and he was really sick when i got him. unfortunately every time i treated him he woud get better for a short time then sick again. RIP little fella

those are dragon tears that I think are not often found in some fh's could be considered kinda rare.

I like the eye mark too. I have one really young guy who has the outline of an eye mark but no dark spot there. It just looks like it has silver eye makeup on.
