#1 Genetics- Does your FH come from a line w/ good Kok potential?
If yes,...

#2 Temperature- 86 to 90 deg. F High temp will increase metabolism.
#3 Power feed- Feed until FH will eat no more. (Clean away all uneaten food and maintain clean water)
#4 pH- Ensure that your tank water is at a good pH level
#5 Aggressiveness- The more aggressive your FH, the bigger its Kok will grow. Try using another FH that it is aggressive towards, seperated by a divider. Or if your FH is in a large tank, use small fast swimming fish to allow the FH to chase after. ...That'll make it feel dominant and the head will .

There are many many factors. ...It is best to read up on many of the past posts before asking. It may be fast and easy to just ask, but much of this has been answered time after time.

I agree completely with Dennis and Lambchops, it's all due to genetics. We cannot feed something to a FH to make the nuchal hump grow out of nowhere. You have to look or ask about the parents to see if they have the potential first. If they do, there are various foods out on the market that will enhance this aspect better. Just to give you an idea, many members have really had great results with ChingMix. Anyway, I hope that we could all be of assistance and do keep us posted, K.

is it true that is u put a mirror next to the tank the fh's kok will get bigger?

It may help a little. But most times, the FH will get tired and used to its own reflection. What is worst is if your FH is extremely aggressive (Like some of mine) and attack the glass with full force. " ...Believe me that HURTS! You don't want it to break a jaw or anything.

I wouldn't recommend using a mirror for an extended amount of time without your presence.

There are better methods of making the Kok grow. (If it does have the Kok potential to begin with)
