I do not have a picture of the fish yet, but this flowerhorn is unreal. He looks just like a platinum FH with red eyes, but he is solid blue like the color of an EB Jack Dempsey. Has anyone else seen these yet? I was told there is only 1 other in NE than this one.

Sounds like your referring to the new Silk FH. They do resemble the EBJD powder blue color.

With a little more research I found the ThaiSilk . But they say that they are platinum in color or a light blue. This sucker is a much darker shade of blue than the pictures show. He does have the dark patch between his eyes going up to his dorsal fin from his lip.

They were the ThaiSilk's when I mentioned the name to the owner, but they were much more blue than I expected from seeing pictures of the Platinums.

From what I've read they can be very light blue almost white to very blue. so they were probablly varients.

does it have a hump?

I bought him as a blue diamond and channacrossbreeds says that mine is not silk and they would know

to me thats like saying red dragon and red cherry are different. the batch of TITANIUM/THAI SILK they have at PETZONE here is dago has one pretty dark blue one out of the whole batch, which is all light pastel blue. so should they sell this fish as a blue diamond?? its not like they were given 20 thai silks and ONE blue diamond when they got their shipment. and my fish is definitely a thai silk

Thai Silk is a very cool strain. Yet, I haven't seen one here in the RP. I wonder why?

Anyway, the Thai Silks around are very cool! I don't know how they differ with Blue Diamonds though, as I'm not so familiar with them.

these were the silk i got from the group buy. i dont like to fatten them up so they still quite small but i really like them. the head pop out. the two fighting was when i just got them and the other pic is about a month ago. cant get a pic of these lil suckerz!!!! dont have new pic yet but the kok is kind of like optimus prime there at 2.5-3."

Silks/Titaniums are awesome.. The color, pearls and kok are the best but there is just 1 minor problem, most silks/titaniums dont get pearls over the kok, some do but I havnt seen many...

I totally agree with you there. I haven't seen one with pearling over the KOK at all...
