you guys ever see a difference with the home made food?

It was a little difficult for them to accept it at first...

I think I would need to try it again and not feed them any pellets in the meantime to see if there's any results from it.

well i got some crazy results.

i got 8 kirins
fed 1 my food
the rest a mix of sumo ,hikari, marine pellet #2

that 1 is 6 1/2 inches
where the other batch averages 3-4 inches and smaller

they were in the same tank
he got too big started bullying the smaller ones . killed 1.
so i had to put in my parrot tank

What were the ingredients of your homemade food? Can you share it with us?

the original recipe was with 3 cups beef heart
bot too messy so i substitute with fish and shrimp
bh worked best. if you can find them.


10-12 pc raw shrimp
6-8 clams
1/4 lb raw salmon
1/4 lb tuna
1 cup ON Prime Reef flakes
1/2 cup pellets
1 tablespoon liquid vitamin ( yes centrum makes this)
2 crushed garlic cloves
1 /2 cup cooked spinach pureed
1 really ripe Banana. optional

edit**
puree to a mush.
put in ziplock bag and freeze (flatten them out)
after freezing take out and cut cubes . fairly easy.
re freeze

I think I am going to make my own version of food see how it goes. I'll let you know one which ingredient I try and what works best once I figure it out

i don feed all these my secret feed is secret lol.i feed pellets only as treats,my fh lov the food an the main thing is grouth of kok an color enhance.but u gotta feed those fh wiv pellets some times too.rem fh is hybrid.
