I have a 13" Kamfamalau double row with red color and 6" Kamfamalau with lots of pearls n red belly.

This is my 1st time breeding and I found a mate for me 13" Kamfamalau. The video doesn't show their true color but my male is really red with double row and female has lots of peart with red belly.

Whats the best way of breeding them? Right now they are in my 80g hex.

Good luck in that hex.

I've noticed most that breed prefer a bit longer tank like a standard 60gl. The hex might work for you though, keep us posted!

Thanks Anthony. Let me see how well they work with my hex tank. I will wait for a couple of weeks and see what happens. If I get lucky and they have frys, I was thinking of moving the parents to another tank. Should I take out the gravels and just keep the pot in there? I dont really know where to start..lol
I got lucky pairing them. I paired a 5" red dragon with him before but he was beating her up. This one got a long right away.

Yeah, that is a whole lot of gravel for breeding. I prefer no gravel at all just the same way Keen breeds also. It would have been best if this was done prior to them being together, I really don't like messing with them at all once they are together like that.

Give them a couple of weeks and let's see what happens. You'll have plenty more chances in the future for sure.

thanks... I had to seperate them the 3rd day because the female got to playful with the male and he didnt like it. He was bitting on his fins and both of them were bitting each others lips.

I put the female back with the male. It's been 3 days!! So far so good... No lip locking or fins bitting. Lots of rock digging and wiggling right now on both of them.

How long does the female to drop her eggs?
