ok i am at a loss.........this is my 2nd fh it's kicket the bucket too, master kit reads water is perfect, my kilrin never showed signs of sickness and my freakin fh did the same thing as the last one did, started swimming funny doing flips in circles, siezing, stopped breathing and kicked the can..........i'm just appauled! cant wrap my head around this one. Maybe i'll try to import one this time idk, im scared to spend more money.....what is going on here. Just saw the luohanfish site and really like the white tiger but i'm way scared that this might happen again.........uuuuhhhhhhhh!
adrianeandconnorwest
both fh started as small fry and when both got to bout 5 inch they kicked the can.......you think it's how they were bread? does that play a part in early death or you think it's something i'm doing wrong? It's crazy because other fish are fine and its just the fh that are dying....???????
AnthonyV
Any signs of stress or disease on the body?
adrianeandconnorwest
nope......really wierd my first fh did it and my 2nd one did too! They both were perfectly healthy one day before death. No signs of sickness what so ever! Great pearls scales fins gills all looked good and eating and normal looking poop too! I have a canopy on the 125 so its not like something could of gotten in there. Im just completely baffled both fh's i've had that died were from 2 diff people so its gotta be something with my tank......wtf
adrianeandconnorwest
It's just wierd because master test kit reads everything normal.......maybe i'm just not meant to keep fh's, idk what the %^&* is going on here.

Don't give up. Im sorry you lost the two. What are you water parameters specifically, ammonia, nitrite and nitrate? How often do you clean the tank? Did you notice any flashing? (rubbing on rocks)
adrianeandconnorwest
no rubbing on rocks and i clean a 10% every week i'll check the specks again this morning the kilrin is good she's doing fine, soon as i get current spec's i'll repost
adrianeandconnorwest
ph 7.2, nitrite 0, nitrate 5, ammonia 0, temp 84, and tank is a 125 measuring at 72x18x22 ......this is normal right? or am i wrong? I know the nitrite is a lil up but not dangerous right?
djrice69
You mean nitrate? not nitrte. Nitrate <20ppm and Nitrite =0

so my levels are bad then?
djrice69
if your nitrIte is 0 then it is fine
adrianeandconnorwest
yea lol any other idea's as to what the $%^& is up with my freakin tank?
djrice69
what water conditioner are you using?
MikeMurry
Over or under feeding??? I have no idea... Everything sound fine... Any household cleaning products ever used near the tank???
Courtney
^^ Ya, like even if you use spray air fresheners near the tank they will get in. Also if you smoke the nicotine can get into the tank water if you don't wash your hand, just grasping at straws and making sure it's not some kind of toxin. Also are all decorations in the tank made for aquariums?

adrianeandconnorwest
no air fresheners, i do smoke but wash my hands, and i use amquel plus conditioner i think im gunna try it agian check out this add think im gunna pick a few up on wed. I'm looking at the add and went to see video of fry, if you guys tell me tank looks to dirty i wont get them. I was a lil uneasy watching video as to the fry's tank looking dirty please check out the add and let me know your thoughts http://sacramento.craigslist.org/for/1830921514.html
adrianeandconnorwest
oh i feed 2 times daily chingmix and headbooster and blood worms, what ever he consumes in a feeding!
adrianeandconnorwest
the only other thing i could think of is that i have a cat that about once a week i catch him jump up the front of the tank like he's gunna catch em i get after him so it doesnt happen alot but i almost wonder if he did it in the night or something and spooked the fh! Maybe he just rammed into side of tank or something! idk i do have a 3 year old too so the fh was used to people at tank and i never saw him get spooked before! I'm just really baffled.
