Hi I've had this flowerhorn since January he is about 4.5 inches and I think his growth was really slowed down because my brother had him in a 29 gallon tank with no water changes since mid Feb till the beginning of this week. I want to know if he still has the ability to grow larger or is he stunted is it male or female and is there any chance it may grow a kok? He still has the other one which I know for sure is a female.

I don't think it will have any potential. Too skinny and no sign of kok at all.

ok, from the pic it looks too skinny. It look long body and no tummy. How else should we judge a fish if it's skinny or not? Weigh it?

Sorry I don't keep my fish fat and overfed.

Sure but I think that's the way people raise flowerhorns. They pump them up. Check the masterpiece gallery, all those with big kok got tall body and big tummy.

Very little to none.. But just keep pumping the guy up! He might develop a decent sized one.

Calm down man. Your fish might be another female from my experience. Therefore, it will look thiner than others.
Well, you have to accept that your fish is thin, flat and long which might be because of her genes. And do not blame that because you brought it from young which you could't choose what would it be.
And what we talk here is about appearances like how you judge people fat and thin. What % of your food nutrition then?

Man, I give you a good tip here for bigger kok.
Do circulate your fish tank 3-5 times per hours. If you're not sure about your water pump, you just give me the dimension by INCHES unit. I'll calculate that for you.

I would feed him three times a day. He's got great colour.
