Just recently pruchased a nice little flowerhorn (ZZ) I have been keeping Red Devils/Midas for a long time now and decided to give the flowerhorn a try. So far I love his personality! I have him in a 75 with a small bushynose pleco. Right now I am feeding him Hikari bio-gold + and freeze dried frill. He is about 2.5" long.. He has the start of a small kok. I am new to keeping these fish but not new to fish in general. What are some good food to feed these guys to increase kok size and color?
THANKS
Jeremy

heya, nice fish you have there. Since I'm from Thailand, I don't know what food provided in USA. But I heard that many people use ChingMix or something.
Personally I use XO (Ocean Free) Humpy head. But plan to have Okiko and Cyclop food too.
BTW, I like the mark out there. It separate into Chinese words.
PS. Clean your tank sometimes pal !!! LOL!

Hello there and welcome to FHUSA!
Nice little zz you have there. Hikari stuff is really good especially the Bio Gold+, you could also try a combination of Grand Sumo, Alife, Hai Feng, Aweek Red, New Life Spectrum just to name a few.
All these different types of feeds will only enhance what you fish genetically carries over from the parents but will not produce any traits.

Grand sumo is great, krill -will help with colour. Hikari bio-gold is great stuff, I have that. I also have new life spectrum, all mentioned but great stuff for colour. Lots of water changes and a clean tank with low nitrates help as well.
